OUR STORY

Future AM has been a leader in advanced manufacturing since its founding in 1981 as Universal Tool. In 2006, we rebranded to Future AM to better reflect our expanding capabilities and focus on cutting-edge manufacturing solutions. With over four decades of industry experience, we specialize in providing high-precision, custom solutions for sectors such as aerospace, defence, marine, medical and oil & gas.

In 1999, Craig Peterson joined the company as a CNC machinist. His passion for innovation and problem-solving led to the company’s transformation into a globally trusted manufacturing partner.  He acquired Future AM in 2008 and grew the business substantially – new market sectors and international customers.

In 2021, the business was acquired by Carmichael Holdings and following Craig’s retirement, Ashok D’Sa, stepped in as Managing Director. Under his leadership, Future AM has made further strides in the world of advanced manufacturing. Investments in manufacturing capability, upskilling of the workforce and a new management team have ensured that the company remains a leader in the world of advanced manufacturing.

Today, Future AM combines decades of expertise, state-of-the-art technology, and a dedicated team of industry professionals to deliver manufacturing solutions for the most complex problems. We proudly serve clients around the world, providing innovative, high-quality solutions tailored to each project’s unique needs.

HOW WE WORK

We work in partnership with our customers; our first step is to understand their specific manufacturing challenge. Our design team collaborates with their engineering team to develop an initial solution. This solution is then rapidly developed into a prototype by our highly skilled programmers and machinists. Following inspection in our state- of- the art metrology unit, the solution is presented to our customers.  This is often an iterative process, due to the nature of advanced manufacturing. The final product is delivered to our customers after it has passed through rigorous quality control checks and tests.
